A Cut Above The Rest At Fleming’s Steakhouse

Located at City Place in Edgewater, Fleming’s Steakhouse and Wine Bar provides couples mouthwatering cuisine and award-winning wines with impeccable views of the Hudson River and the New York skyline. Upon entering the restaurant, you’ll quickly notice the venue’s chic yet classic dining room, accented by an open air kitchen.

Once seated, we were given menus and a WinePad. This electronic tablet (developed by Fleming’s) offers a selection of over 100 wines by the glass, with photos of the wine’s original label and tasting notes. The device also helps pair wines with your dinner, so you know what goes best with your peppercorn-encrusted New York strip steak. Fleming’s wine list itself is both engaging and well-organized, even for the avid wine drinker.

After deciding on the wine for the evening, we started our meal with housemade burrata, which consisted of charred grape tomatoes, wild arugula and toasted garlic crostini. We followed that with a few of Fleming’s signature small plates. The lobster tempura, a fresh, flavor-intense dish with the shell repositioned and deconstructed, was served with a soy-ginger dipping sauce and was a huge hit at our table. We also tried (and devoured) the seared ahi-tuna, which was served with a fresh vegetable salad and a spicy mustard sauce. A Cut Above The Rest At Fleming’s Steakhouse

From there it was on to the main course. We opted for the prime bone-in ribeye, which was accompanied with jumbo lump crabmeat served with a rich bearnaise sauce. With the steak sizzling as the entrées reached the table, it wasn’t long before we experienced what truly makes Fleming’s so special—the flavor.

Though the steak was hearty, we saved just enough room for dessert. Fleming’s signature chocolate lava cake was also an explosion of flavor. With an intense molten center of Belgian chocolate, served with premium vanilla ice cream and chopped pistachios, this is one treat you’ll want to make room for!
Fleming’s is a must-visit neighborhood destination. From the accommodating service, to the world-class food and drinks (and some top notch views) this is one dining experience that has become a community staple. And though we enjoyed Fleming’s seasonal summer menu, we are already looking forward to what the next season brings. Until then!
